Terms of Use

Last updated 2026-08-29

These terms are the agreement between you and Rivo Systems (KvK 42062631), the Netherlands, about your use of the Seya app. By using Seya you accept them. If you do not, please stop using the app.

What Seya is — and what it is not

Seya is a self-help tool. It helps you track a streak, understand your own patterns, and have something concrete to do when an urge hits.

It is not medical care. It is not therapy, diagnosis or treatment, and nothing in it comes from a clinician who knows your situation. Compulsive sexual behaviour can be a serious condition, and it is often tangled up with anxiety, depression or trauma that an app cannot see. If this is affecting your life, please talk to a doctor or a qualified therapist. Seya is a good thing to use alongside that, not instead of it.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a suicide prevention line immediately. In the Netherlands that is 113 (113.nl, free, day and night). This app is not built for emergencies and cannot help you with one.

Who may use it

You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough under the law where you live to agree to these terms on your own. If you are not, do not use the app.

Your account

The introduction and the questions are open to you without an account. To take out a subscription you do need one, because a subscription belongs to a person rather than to a phone, and because it is what lets you come back to your own streak on a new device. You sign in through Apple or Google, and we never handle a password of yours.

You are responsible for keeping access to that provider account secure, because whoever can sign in there can reach your Seya data. Tell us if you think someone else has got in.

One account is for one person. Please do not share it.

Subscriptions and payment

Seya is a subscription app. There is no free version and no free tier: using it requires an active subscription. You can choose a monthly or an annual plan.

The annual plan opens with a 3-day free trial. Apple grants one trial per subscription group per Apple ID, so if you have already used it you will not get a second one — before you confirm anything, the subscribe screen asks Apple which of the two applies to you and says so on the button. The monthly plan has no trial. Nothing is charged during a trial, and we send you a notification the day before it ends if you allowed notifications.

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see or store your payment details.

What you may not do

What belongs to whom

The app, its design, its text and its name belong to us. Using Seya gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it — it does not transfer any ownership.

What you write stays yours. Your notes, reflections and plan are your content. We store them to give you the service described in the Privacy Policy and for nothing else: we do not read them for research, we do not train anything on them, and we do not show them to anyone.

Availability

We try to keep Seya working, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of bugs. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we ever shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.

Disclaimers and liability

Seya is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about results — including that using the app will change any particular behaviour.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your national consumer law gives you, and nothing in these terms takes those away.

Ending it

There are two separate things you can end, and ending one does not end the other.

Cancelling your subscription stops the billing. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and your data stays where it is. You do this in your App Store account settings.

Deleting your account erases your data, as described in the Privacy Policy. It is permanent, and it does not cancel your subscription — we cannot cancel an Apple subscription for you, so cancel that with Apple first if you do not want to be charged again. If a subscription is still running when you choose to delete, the app says so twice before it goes ahead.

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first.

Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Seya or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when they last changed, and we will notify you in the app if a change is significant. Continuing to use Seya after that means you accept the new version.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, and disputes go to the competent courts there. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of your own country’s mandatory law and may bring a claim in your local courts.
